About the Role: Good Words is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Technical Writer with 10-plus years of experience to join our fully remote team. As a Senior Technical Writer, you'll work on a diverse range of projects with our startup, small business, midsize, and enterprise clients. We are looking for individuals who are exceptional writers with versatile skills to support end user, admin, and developer documentation, as well as dedicated team players. Your role will be to create and project manage clear, concise technical documentation and be a vital link between our clients and our company. Good Words Expectations and Responsibilities: Allocate at least 32 hours per week for client projects; reserve Fridays for Good Words internal work. Embrace and embody Good Words' core values. Actively contribute to our company’s community of technical writers and the overall growth of our company. Exhibit resilience when facing challenges with clients and projects, approaching them with a positive mindset. Commit to attending Good Words meetings and working effectively in a geographically dispersed team. Assist in building external relationships in the tech and technical writing communities on behalf of Good Words. Technical Writing Skills and Responsibilities: Demonstrate exceptional writing skills. Maintain a polished and professional portfolio of technical writing samples. Proven ability to create documentation for various audiences, including end users, administrators, and developers. Proficiency in and experience with documentation industry standards and best practices, including single-source documentation environments, version control tools like Git or Perforce, and topic-based authoring. Experience working as a dedicated technical writer within an engineering or scrum team or agile environment. Capable of collaborating with editors and editing the work of others. Proficiency in interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information. Client Services Skills and Responsibilities: Display excellent communication and customer service skills while maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings. Develop project plans, effectively prioritize work tasks, and effectively manage complex documentation projects. Proactively communicate about risks, issues, opportunities for improvement, and achievements; set clear boundaries and proactively communicate expectations with clients. Serve as a bridge between clients and Good Words, ensuring smooth collaboration and positive relationships. Identify and advocate for project opportunities. Adaptability to work in various professional environments, from startups to large enterprises. Compensation and Benefits Information: Salary range: 2,665,000 INR to 3,100,000 INR (~$32,000 to $37,000 USD) per year Length: 6-month contract to start with an option to possibly extend or convert to a full-time position with benefits Fully remote: Work from your location with flexible working hours to ensure a balanced quality of life Good Words offers a fully remote working environment, a culture of collaboration, and a commitment to quality documentation.
