Purpose of the Position: Digitization and automation of L&T Shared Services Centre (SSC) HR processes using automation as core tool in addition to building Integration Interfaces. Establish and maintain IT set up for SSC and supporting business with data lakes, visualization of MIS dashboards, Analytical Reports, Predictive analysis by implementing AI/ML on the past data.IT Strategy and road Map for continues improvements. Leadership and Management: Provide leadership to the SSC (Shared Services Center) IT team, ensuring a cohesive and motivated work environment. Effectively manage and oversee the IT team, promoting collaboration and efficient workflow. Automation and Process Improvement: Drive proactive initiatives to automate processes within the Shared Services Center. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through the implementation of technology solutions. Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and integrate them into the SSC's operations. Technology Platform Enhancement: Take the lead in enhancing the technology platform used by the SSC. Ensure that the technology infrastructure is up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices. Work on improving system performance, scalability, and security. Vendor and Partner Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors providing IT solutions and services. Collaborate with external partners to leverage their expertise and resources for the benefit of the SSC. Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic IT plan aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organization. Align IT initiatives with business objectives and contribute to the long-term success of the SSC. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to IT systems and work towards mitigating them. Implement and enforce security measures to protect the SSC's IT infrastructure and data. Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT team and the SSC as a whole. Regularly assess and optimize IT processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to understand their IT needs and requirements. Collaborate on cross-functional projects to support the organization's overall success. Overall, the position is instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of IT operations within the Shared Services Center, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The primary job duties and responsibilities for the role of managing and supporting the IT setup of SSC (Shared Services Center) for Enterprise Applications, Network, and Hardware include: Solution Designing : Develop and propose effective IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency and meet business requirements. Software Evaluation and Selection : Assess and choose appropriate applications that align with the organization's needs and objectives. Automation and Digitization : Collaborate with the operations team to automate and digitize SSC processes, improving workflow efficiency. Budgeting and Monitoring: Develop and manage budgets for IT requirements, including regular monitoring and periodic upgrades to ensure optimal performance. Responsible for budgeting and tracking SSC IT expenses, ensuring financial alignment with organizational goals. Maintenance and Security Audit : Oversee the maintenance of all applications and conduct regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities. Infrastructure Management: Understand and manage both in-house and cloud infrastructure setups, ensuring proper maintenance and monitoring of usage. Root Cause Analysis: Possess the ability to investigate and identify the root cause of technical issues, providing permanent solutions to prevent recurrence. Technological Awareness: Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends to incorporate relevant advancements into the SSC's IT infrastructure. Vendor and Partner Collaboration: Experienced in working closely with vendors and partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Effectively negotiate contracts and ensure delivery of high-quality products and services. Secondary responsibilities may include: Support and Maintenance of Applications: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the applications used within the SSC, addressing issues and ensuring smooth operation. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of IT management, application development, infrastructure, and security, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams within the organization. Additionally, staying current with technological advancements is crucial for successful execution of responsibilities. AREAS OF EXPOSURE/ WORK BACKGROUND: Enterprise Application Development: Possesses technical expertise in developing enterprise applications, particularly with hands-on experience on the Microsoft platform. Business Intelligence (BI) and Database Exposure: Familiarity and experience with BI tools and databases, indicating proficiency in managing and analyzing data for informed decision-making. Process Automation/Integration IT Projects: Previous involvement in IT projects related to process automation and integration, showcasing a proactive approach towards improving operational efficiency. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to make effective presentations. Capable of interacting with clients to understand and gather business requirements. Coding Standards Enforcement: Demonstrated ability to communicate and enforce coding standards, ensuring consistency and quality in software development practices. Collaborative Tools: Worked on collaborative tools such as Helpdesk systems, IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems, and other integrations, indicating experience in enhancing communication and workflow within the organization. Advantageous Skills - Robotics Process Automation (RPA): Additional advantage if the candidate has experience with Robotics Process Automation (RPA) tools, showcasing adaptability to emerging technologies for process optimization. QUALIFICATION: BE /MCA/MSc. with a Post Graduation degree in computer science/IT EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED: Dedicated IT professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the field, combining expertise in development, project management, and enterprise application management. Proven track record of leading teams of 20+ members to successful project completion.
