Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing robust IT infrastructures that align with business objectives. As an Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for network, operating systems, & database administration and operations. We use a breadth of tools and approaches and are passionate about the practices of cloud computing, revision control, debugging, testing, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will learn quickly, love working from the command-line, support a culture of diversity, be intellectually curious, enjoy problem solving, and have excellent communication skills.

Role Objectives

• Accelerate the delivery of business value to our customers, continually shortening feedback loops, and reducing complexity to enable the fast flow of business value.

• Automate manual and repetitive tasks including network/operating system/software deployments, testing, release management, monitoring, and alerting.

• Be a part of the primary implementation & support teams for multiple client systems.

• Build innovative solutions to measure and optimize systems and application availability

& performance, push our support capabilities forward, and get ahead of customer needs.

• Continuously improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market for assigned projects.

• Operate and support the systems used to manage business critical infrastructure, platforms, and software.

Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Design and Planning

a. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.

b. Requirements gathering and analyze data from networks, operating systems, databases, and applications to assist in monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, and defect resolution.

c. Design and architect complex IT systems, considering factors such as performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

d. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the continuous improvement of the organization's infrastructure.

2. Cloud Computing

a. Design and implement cloud-based solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

b. Evaluate and recommend cloud services, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.

c. Implement and manage cloud-based security measures to protect sensitive data.

3. Networking and Security

a. Develop and implement networking solutions, including LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewalls.

b. Ensure the organization's infrastructure complies with security best practices and industry standards.

c. Collaborate with security teams to conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary measures.

4. Virtualization

a. Implement and manage virtualization solutions, such as VMware or Hyper-V.

b. Optimize virtualized environments for performance and resource efficiency.

5. Automation and Scripting

a. Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management processes.

b. Collaborate with the development team to integrate infrastructure-as-code practices.

c. Balance speed of business and operational reliability with well-defined KPIs and SLOs.

6. Project Management:

a. Lead infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.

b. Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges.

7. Team Collaboration and Leadership

a. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

b. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on continuous learning and improvement.
