Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder - OMR to join our team. This is a mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of experience in medical coding. The role is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and is a full-time position. As a Certified Medical Coder - OMR, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding and documentation, as well as adhering to regulatory guidelines and compliance.
Qualifications And Skills - Certification as a Medical Coder (CPC or equivalent)
- Proven experience in outpatient coding and evaluation management
- Strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Roles And Responsibilities - Review medical records and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using coding systems such as CPC, ICD, CPT, and HCPCS
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of coded claims to insurance companies and government agencies
- Monitor coding trends and industry updates to stay informed about changes in coding guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve coding and documentation issues
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
- Conduct regular audits to identify coding errors and implement corrective actions
- Provide coding education and training to healthcare staff as needed
