Stantec’s E&R team in Pune specializes in multidisciplinary conceptual and detail design engineering services in power generation, substation, Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Oil and Gas (O&G), mining and other heavy industrial process projects.

Primary Purpose of Job:
This role is Co- Lead role working closely with Lead E&R having similar job responsibilities as defined below. Contribute to Stantec’s business goals by providing technical expertise and leadership to plan, design, and deliver engineering projects in power generation, Substation, transmission and distribution, O&G, mining, and other heavy industrial processes. Engage with global Stantec BCs and their leadership to grow Pune engagement as per Strategic growth plan for E&R. Grow the team in Pune through innovation and proactive initiatives and develop the Pune E&R team as a center of excellence to support our business globally. Assist the Senior Leadership in Pune in matters such as resource management, engineering process development and forward-looking plans.
The Pune E&R Lead is Senior level position accountable for Strategic planning, overall performance, and technical delivery for the team, developing multidisciplinary teams within E&R group, staff management, mentoring, training, working closely with regional counterparts globally as required. E&R lead is also expected to be an ambassador for the E&R group, meet project & client expectations and promote a continually improving technical delivery of the team to our global BCs, delivery of high value engineering work.
Key Accountabilities:- Develop, maintain, and monitor progress for E&R strategic growth plan.
- Responsible for leading, guiding, monitoring the staff and discipline leads of E&R team.
- Provide support in overall team development, active participation in increasing team success, identify challenges in work engagements and development of the team and prepare action plans.
- Work with SMEs to develop and monitor the execution of the training plans to upskill in technical competencies and diversify the service offerings within E&R.
- Ensure delivery of work done by team is in accordance with the technical quality standards, timescales, and budget. Review proposals and cost estimates.
- Interface directly with discipline leads to review project engagements, forecast plans, budgets, status reports and deliverables. Ensure that work products meet standards as defined by Stantec.
- Ensure high team morale by regularly connecting with team, providing appreciation and recognition, and carrying out team building activities from time to time.
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with global E&R leadership and counterparts to maintain strong client relationships through developing engagement plans, review engagement progress, forecast and productivity of resources; monitor and discuss monthly FTE usage against the FTE commitments.
- Collaborate within Pune with other BOU leads, EMT members for effective resource and skill sharing. Active participation in various Pune management initiatives.
- Willingness to learn and adapt new tools and system/processes.
- Willingness to work late evening or early morning hours to enable collaboration with global counterparts.
- Complete all work in line with Stantec core values and in accordance with the Stantec quality systems and procedures.
- Other duties as requested from time to time by the Engineering Director.
Person Specifications:
- B. Tech/B.E (Electrical / Instrumentation / Mechanical).
- Professional Accredited Engineer from any of the global recognized Engineering Councils.
- 20+ years of professional experience.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering design projects in power generation, substation, T&D / industrial process / O&G and Mining projects with 2D and 3D CAD/BIM applications will be an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. This is a very essential requirement to build and grow a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience of earlier design management and co-ordination and management of global and remote engineering teams, people leadership etc.
- Demonstrated competence in MS Office applications.
- Expert level of client service management, i.e.: able to interface with internal clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with our clients.
- High levels of decision making, i.e. able to make quality business decisions as well as to identify, assess, evaluate, and solve problems.
- Readiness to travel to various regions as required & other job demands.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work in a highly demanding environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, technical specialist and Discipline leads across globe.
- A “Can Do” attitude with a strong delivery focus especially in enhanced processes for increasing efficiency.
- Excellent understanding of quality principles and the application of Quality Management Systems.
- A sound knowledge of the development of delivery processes, in particular the ability to understand methods of performance evaluation and improvement implementation.
