Job Responsibilities include:
• Develop auditing automation strategies for auditing transportation freight invoices and ensuring proper controls are in place in freight auditing and Invoice payment systems.
• Work with Upstream and downstream technology teams to seamlessly integrate the new geographies, new modes and new carriers onto our systems for automated ingestion, thorough auditing, timely payments and proper closure of accounting books, without any manual interventions, and thus providing excellent customer experience.
• Partner with your team and oversee auditing operations, develop analytical models / automation efforts while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners. Provide valuable business insights through benchmarking internally and externally based on the carrier invoice data on the overall cost of delivery performance and cost cutting opportunities.
• Manage teams, develop talent, and encourage your team to challenge assumptions. Promote recruiting efforts across the organization.
• Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in accurately estimating freight cost and ensure payment accuracy
• Create a “learn by doing” environment by engaging with financial analysts and business partners to promote and encourage continued customer focus and cost reduction
• Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root
• Drives execution of vision and goals for the team. Responsible for developing and communicating team or department vision and goals.
• Leads the most complex, mission-critical cross-company projects from initiation through delivery. Defines and enforces broad, company-wide standards for the way new initiatives are scoped, designed and put into production.
• Identifies new technologies, suppliers, and external partners to address critical business needs.
• Significantly participates in recruiting efforts. Continually raises the bar. Significant role in career development of others. Drives execution of vision and goals for the team. May be responsible for developing and communicating team or department vision and goals.

A day in the life
Tight financial controls and adherence to company policies is required involving a high level of operational knowledge and collaboration with internal and external teams. Specific focus areas that help this leader be successful are influencing our business and tech partners, establishing a structure to drive multiple transportation programs and developing a highly productive team. This leader sets the strategic direction for the team and creates and maintains a culture that will help them own, automate and be effective in their day to day work with little or no oversight.
About the team
Trans Controllership is challenging and exciting spaces to work for, with new Geographies, new modes and new carriers being launched every day and being required to integrate with technical systems for automatic Ingestion of Freight invoices, thorough auditing, timely payment and proper accounting . Role is broadly responsible for four things: 1) Ensuring carrier transportation invoices are thoroughly audited, carriers are paid correct amount, and are paid on time, 2) Partner with Accounting teams to ensure liabilities are accurately reflected in Amazon’s financial statements 3) Provide BI insights and analytics on the transportation spend trends and patterns
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Hyderabad, TS, IND
- 8+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience
- 5+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- MBA in finance, accounting or related field
- Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
