Job description

Our client, a US-owned global contract manufacturer of precision industrial hardware and metal castings, leverages an extensive global supply chain to provide industrial OEMs with parts and full assemblies for their manufacturing operations worldwide. Currently serving diverse industries such as gas and electric utilities, rail, construction materials, hydraulic machinery, and other heavy industries, our client is expanding its procurement of industrial products in India. This expansion, coupled with the continued growth and importance of the supply chain management arm of the business, necessitates the appointment of a new India Supply Chain Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in identifying, auditing, and cultivating strong supplier relationships, with a background in metal casting, machining, and other heavy industrial manufacturing fields.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Supply China Manager will:
 Identify high quality and economically competitive suppliers in various industrial manufacturing
sectors throughout India.
 Gather quotes and conduct pricing reviews.
 Conduct thorough audits of factories.
 Ensure that new suppliers meet the social responsibility, cost and quality expectations by projects
assigned.
 Prepare and present regular, timely reports on quality performance metrics of suppliers.
 Keep abreast of changes and developments of existing suppliers.
 Work with existing BMF supply chain managers to ensure any products transferred to our Supply
Chain network are done so in a structured and controlled manner.
 Perform specific tasks requested by the Supply Chain manager or the General Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

 Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, in Industrial Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline. Alternatively, a combination of education and
experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree may be considered.
 Must have a minimum of 3-5 years proven success in supply chain or sourcing.
 A good understanding of casting, machining, sheet metal forming, metal coatings & welding
processes.
 Background in Electrical grid components, gas distribution components or Hydraulic related
components is a plus
 Previous experience in procurement or production of components or products for export to
Europe and / or North America.
Skills and Abilities:
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written as well as verbal).
 Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbal and written.
 Self-motivated, individual contributor and team player.
 A good working knowledge of MS Office (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook).
 Able to learn & adapt in a growing environment.
 Extensive travel is expected in this role throughout India which may require the person to work
beyond the normal hours of duty.
