Job Description:

As a Virtualization Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualized environments to optimize IT infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency. Your role involves collaborating with IT teams, assessing organizational needs, and deploying virtualization solutions that align with business objectives.

Virtualization Architecture Design:

Develop and design virtualization solutions based on organizational requirements.
Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend virtualization technologies that align with industry best practices.

Implementation and Deployment:

Install and configure virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
Deploy virtual machines (VMs) and virtual networks according to project specifications.
Ensure proper integration with storage, networking, and other infrastructure components.

Performance Optimization:

Monitor and optimize the performance of virtualized environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to resource allocation, performance bottlenecks, and capacity planning.

Security and Compliance:

Implement security measures for virtualized environments, including access controls and encryption.
Ensure virtualization solutions comply with industry regulations and internal security policies.

Backup and Recovery:

Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans for virtualized systems.
Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly.
Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand IT requirements and provide virtualization expertise.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of virtualization configurations, processes, and procedures.

Training and Support:

Provide training and support to IT staff on virtualization technologies.
Assist in resolving escalated technical issues related to virtualized environments.

Stay Informed:

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in virtualization.
Recommend and implement updates to virtualization solutions as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Virtualization Specialist or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
Familiarity with storage and networking concepts in virtualized environments.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
