Job description

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Monitor computer networks for security issues. Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
• Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
• Manage the reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement.
• Report possible threats or software issues. Deploy endpoint detection and prevention tools to malicious hacks.
• Perform regular audits to ensure security practices are compliant. Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
• Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.
• Responsible to all systems and network security breaches. Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard. Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
• Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
• Stay up to date on information technology trends and security standards. Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments
• Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
• Monitor network and application performance to identify and irregular activity.
• Set up patch management systems to update applications automatically
• Implement comprehensive vulnerability management systems across all assets on-premises and in the cloud.
• Work with IT operations to set up a shared disaster recovery/business continuity plan.
• Work with HR and/or team leads to educate employees on how to identify suspicious activity.
• Design, analyse and implement efficient IT security systems.
• Safeguards system security and improves overall server and network efficiency by training users and promoting security awareness.
• Performs risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
• Monitors and restricts access to sensitive, confidential, or other high-security data.
• Maintain an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security.
• Investigate security alerts and provide incident response.
• Plan for disaster recovery and create contingency plans in the event of any security breaches.
