Position : Medical Superintendent
Location : Kanpur Experience : At least 10 years of experience Formal Qualifications : Degree/ Diploma in relevant Specialization (MBBS/BDS etc) and MHA Specific Responsibilities : The responsibilities are as follows : 1. Recommend a viable budget that ensures optimum excellence in service, patient satisfaction and planned profitability. 2. Set short-term and long-term objectives for the team towards the planned objective. 3. Recommend policies that meet the needs of the hospital. Also, develop and recommend resource strategies for profitability. 4. Have a preventive maintenance schedule for all the equipment and physical assets. 5. Develop adequate (PR) with Govt. agencies to satisfy the various statutory requirements of the Hospital. 6. To organize the accreditation process of the hospital like NABL, NABH, ISO, JCI, etc. 7. Update and implement systems and procedures to ensure that the systems so that the response to the patient is quick. 8. Bring about cost consciousness and implement cost control so as to ensure planned profitability without effecting quality of service and product. 9. Conduct weekly audits so to ensure that the operational procedures are adhered to. 10. Making alternative arrangements for allocation of duties of consultants on leave. 11. Supervision of medical records and maintenance thereof. 12. Supervision of library and periodical purchase of journals. 13. Have a viable manpower plan to ensure productivity, patient satisfaction and cost control. 14. Conduct appraisals of staff against objectives and standards so as to ascertain performance levels, training and development needs and reward and recognition. 15. To work closely with the heads of clinical and ancillary service of clinical services, diagnostic and treatment facilities, and prepare protocols for efficient patient care & with the nursing service in developing proper procedures for good nursing and supportive care to patients. 16. Adopts systems to monitor and improve the quality of care, utilization of facilities, turnover and performance of staff. 17. Ensures that medical and paramedical staff function effectively and thereby run hospital smoothly and efficiently. 18. Handle all medico legal cases along with the Facility Director, ethical and research issues. Promotes continuing professional education of medical and paramedical staff. 19. Work in close collaboration with Consultants, Nursing and other Clinical services to ensure that best services are being delivered. 20. Ensuring the Statutory and regulatory requirements of the hospital. Monitoring of clinical outcomes/compliances. 21. Ensure implementation & adherence of above mentioned policies, protocols & processes by all in the hospital. 22. Ensure availability of resources (equipment, drugs, medicines, implants, infrastructure & manpower etc) in coordination with respective department HOD's. 23. Ensure optimum utilization of resources and suggest/recommend new ways for increasing efficiency & effectiveness of resources. 24. Ensure regular communication between the treating doctor and patient/ patient's attendant regarding patient's condition & plan of treatment. 25. Responsible for Medical Liasioning (PNDT, Doctors & Nurses Registration, Medico legal cases etc). 26. Coordinate with Biomedical department to ensure that all equipments in OT, ICU, Day Care & CSSD are fully functional at all the times. 27. Ensure Zero % infection in OTs, ICUs and Day Care in coordination with nursing and technicians. 28. Ensure that patient files are complete at all times. 29. Ensure timely delivery of sterile equipments & other material from CSSD to various clinical departments. 30. Responsible for the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided in the area of responsibility. 31. Maximize customer satisfaction (internal as well as external) and address to all the patients queries as an when required and ensure that patient grievance are dealt with carefully. 32. Assist Medical Superintendent in developing operating & capital budget of the departments and ensure adherence to the budget. 33. Work in close coordination with HR Department for : a. Training & Development of employees b. Control /Reduction in attrition c. Reduction in overtime 34. Provide daily & monthly reports to the Facility Director. 35.
