Description

Overview of the projects

  1. Math Games:

Math Games is an innovative math curriculum grounded in decades of research on how young children learn and develop. The curriculum employs a simple yet engaging module comprising games to foster children's intuitive understanding of numbers and geometry.

Through these games, children develop number recognition, approximation, addition skills, and geometrical abilities, which are crucial for their cognitive development. This initiative is based on three fundamental principles:

Early childhood experiences have the potential to shape lifelong abilities.

Young children possess an innate grasp of non-symbolic mathematics, which, when nurtured effectively, can enhance their academic performance.

Children in low-resource and low-literate settings often lack opportunities to develop their natural mathematical skills, and addressing this gap is critical.

  1. Randomised Control Trial Research Project:

A randomized control trial that would investigate the importance of the following:

“Starting early” and working along the age continuum by providing appropriate developmental inputs from the pre-primary stage till the end of Grade 1

Developing a “breadth of skills” as a foundation for learning, by focusing on a variety of key developmental domains to support children’s growth and development

Integrating the role of mothers and mothers’ groups in strengthening the early childhood education model.

The project aims to adapt and rigorously evaluate a suite of "Math Games" designed for preschool-aged children to enhance their innate mathematical abilities and improve their performance in primary school mathematics.
