Job responsibilities:
· Administer, configure, maintain, and support Linux systems.
· Performs tasks to plan, implement, oversee, and maintain server and network infrastructures and projects.
· Establish and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Windows and VMware environments to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
· Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for Linux systems, ensuring data integrity and business continuity in the event of system failures.
· Validate and remediate server restarts resulting from automated host (VM) failover and patching events.
· Execute VM migrations in accordance with design standards when required.
· Troubleshoot issues, capture, and analyze system-level logs/dumps, collaborating with vendors as needed according to incident/problem management processes.
· Handle common services including security vulnerability remediation, performance issues, backup, recovery, licensing, upgrades, and standard operating procedures.
· Storage Management Tasks such as monitoring, backup and archival, creation and modifications of LUNs, Snapshots, Data Replication, Reporting, and analysis.
· Investigate and troubleshoot latency issues, implementing appropriate solutions.
· Develop and implement automation solutions for common operational support processes to enhance efficiency.
· Working with and overseeing TCP/IP model, LAMP stack tuning, scaling, and maintenance
· Contributing member of uptime and on-call response time SLAs
Requirements:
· 6+ years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration.
· Strong Knowledge in UNIX Operating systems like Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Alma Linux / CentOS / Ubuntu/SUSE, should be flexible and have cross platform working knowledge.
· In-depth familiarity and strong troubleshooting skills in Unix operation.
· Administration of physical and virtual infrastructure UNIX based hosts in complex heterogeneous environments.
· knowledge on server PXE installation, kickstart configurations, patching, and package management.
· Solid TCPIP understanding including protocols for smtp, ssl, dns etc …
· Experience automating tasks using scripts Shell, Bash, Ansible etc …
· Hands on experience in monitoring systems like Nagios, NewRelic etc…
· VMWare, F5 Load Balancer & Rackspace Cloud experience.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as well as analytical/problem solving ability.
· Able to work as an individual contributor.
· Experience in Docker & Kubernetes is a plus.
· Any knowledge on Databases would be a added advantage.
