Job description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Server & Storage Administrator to remotely maintain and manage our client's IT infrastructure including physical servers, virtualized platforms like VMware, Hyper-V and other Linux KVM-based solutions, Cloud intra, Storage solutions like DAS, SAN and NAS and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 operating systems and their roles and features, especially Active Directory.

Candidate must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. They should be able to work diligently and accurately and should have great problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure client's business functionalities.

*Preferably looking for candidates with 2-5 years of total experience in the aforementioned area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Physical Server & Storage Management:

1. Address hardware, operating system & software/firmware issues of Tower, Rack & Blade Servers.
2. Configure/manage servers using remote management consoles like IPMI, iDRAC, iLO etc.
3. Execute BIOS updates and firmware updates for server and storage components.
4. Configure and maintain RAID using directly attached storage devices in servers.
5. Execute scheduled proactive support and performance-tuning activities.
6. Configure/maintain various SAN solutions from HP, DELL, IBM.
7. Configure/maintain various RAID Groups, volumes, and LUNs.
8. Configure/maintain SAN switches.

• Virtualization Platform Management:

1. Configure / Maintain virtualization platforms – vSphere ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V and others.
2. Configure/maintain datastores, vSwitches and port groups
3. Configure/maintain virtual machines and their operating systems.
4. Scheduled proactive activities and patching support.
5. Manage virtual machine snapshots.
6. Configure/maintain backup and replication of VMs using various solutions (eg: Veeam Backup)

• Windows Server Environment:

1. O/S support Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022
2. Configure/maintain Active Directory Domain Services and Group policy management.
3. Configure/maintain DNS, DHCP, File Server, Web Server (IIS), and Network Policy Server (NPS) roles
4. Configure/maintain Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
5. Configure/maintain SQL Server installations along with scheduled backup, mirroring, and log shipping.
6. Perform operating system state backups as well as user/application data online/offline/cloud backups.
7. Perform security updates and Operating System hardening activities.
8. Tool based Performance monitoring. (PRTG)

• Cloud:

1. Office 365 management
2. Understanding of cloud platforms like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

Requisite Qualifications & Experience:

• Engineering diploma, Graduate or above
• MCSE, VCP Certification
• AWS cloud practitioner (Optional)
• RHCE, RHCSA (Optional)
• ITIL knowledge (Optional)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
