Team Summary
The Controllership Process and Data team is responsible for developing and enhancing tools and control processes across Global Controllership functions to promote data governance, process efficiency and reporting accuracy.
These range from process enhancements on existing tools eliminating manual workflows to performance measurement tools (scorecards, health checks and operational dashboards) and anomaly identification programs (key risk indicators and anomaly detection models). These tools record, monitor and track transaction and metric data throughout their lifecycles and are important decision-making tools for senior management.
What a Finance Data and Process Analyst does at Visa
The Analyst will participate in the creation of tools and apps that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of data and processes across Controllership. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining effective data operations in Python / PowerBI for reporting and control processes.
- Identification of automation opportunities on existing processes and reports.
- Building automation and visualization tools to report and communicate results achieved and
- Clearly and confidently articulate solutions, methodologies, and frameworks to team members and both technical and non-technical partners.

The Controllership function in Visa is responsible for financial risk and controls management across Visa's businesses, allowing business to be conducted in a safe and sustainable manner. As an effective partner to the business, we use the tools and analytics generated by the Process and Data team to communicate, measure, and mitigate risks along Visa's business lines.
Projects you will be a part of:
The Controllership Process and Data team is at the forefront of data technology and process improvement in Finance, and we lead the way in reducing manual workflows and the elimination of process risk in our business operations. The Analyst can expect to learn about the various platforms and technologies that we use in our daily work and apply the acquired skills on projects that increases the data maturity of the Visa Finance organization.
These include the creation of data validation platforms using PowerApps, the creation of monitoring dashboards in Power BI and the automation of reporting processes.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications What you will need:
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
Skills in data analysis and experience using one or more of the following languages and platforms for data manipulation, extraction, and automation:(PowerQuery) / DAX / PowerApps
Experience in using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView or similar platforms for creating dashboards and reports to facilitate management decision-making.
Ability to work effectively in a cross functional and global team environment, collaborating with stakeholders across different functions and regions.
Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
What will also help:
A major/specialization in Accounting Data Analytics
Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and revenue recognition concepts
Familiarity with process automation tools and techniques including RPA tools such as Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere and Microsoft Power Automate
Professional and Technical:
Prior work experience in business operations and with focus on operational controls
3 - 5 years of business experience
Business controls, compliance & risk function experience desired
Bachelor's degree in a business discipline, with higher degree qualifications preferred.
Good finance and accounting knowledge
Excellent Microsoft Excel working knowledge.
Experience Or Qualifications In Business Improvement Methodologies. Detailed, conscientious, and highly responsible team player
Superior business English, both oral and written is essential.
