Job description
This is a remote position.
We are looking for a data analyst to support the breadth of our internal operations: performing
quality control on lab data results for biology and chemistry assays, reviewing and approving
external deliverables, and performing investigations for internal data inquiries.
Responsibilities:
● Following established SOPs and running automated scripts to perform data QC on lab
results
● Reviewing and approving final external customer deliverables
● Responding to data inquiries from internal teams across Lab Operations, Customer
Experience and Product in a timely manner
● Building internal dashboards and reports to enable partner teams
● Partnering with Lab, Data Science and Engineering teams to build tools and automated
processes to make Biobot’s data review and approval processes more efficient
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or another
quantitative discipline
● 3+ years of work experience in data analytics, ideally in a domain related to public health
or the life sciences
● Experience and fluency with Python scripting
● Experience with bash/shell scripting
● Experience and understanding of writing and maintaining SQL queries
● Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
● A detail-oriented, organized, and data-driven approach to their work
● Ability to quickly understand user inquiries and translate them into an investigation plan
● Dedication to providing timely, accurately results to internal and external customers
Nice-to-Haves:
● Experience working with modern data engineering stack (Snowflake, dbt)
● Experience working with PCR, LCMS and/or sequencing data
● Experience with AWS
