Role Summary
The Design Engineer / Senior Engineer is responsible for CAD design of IP and Console.
Must haves
Years of experience - Minimum 2.5 to 5 years work experience in IP / Console design.
Dimension of Function
Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on projects and programmes for our clients. The Sr. Engineer will take ownership of a given commodity through the full product development lifecycle.
Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
· Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design function – IP, Console, Door Trims.
· Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels,
· PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.
· Successful history of delivery within the automotive product development sector.
· Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
· Ability to generate CAD data in UG NX is essential.
· Significant experience in use of engineering tools DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance stack up, DVP, understanding of mould flow etc.
Area of Responsibility:
· Responsible for the design of the parts of the respective zones w.r.t the project input by the Lead Engineer (LE)
· Follow the work description sent by the counterpart.
· To have effective communication with counterparts using appropriate tools (emails or presentations).
· To be able to participate in design reviews.
· Follow the systems and procedures of TTL/customer.
· Meet customer's expectations in terms of quality, cost and delivery of projects assigned.
· Complete the assignment within the estimated time on or before the decided delivery date.
· Ensure regular weekly timesheet punching.
· Anticipate the potential issues regarding assembly, tooling, design flaws, etc and intimate the LE.
· Be innovative and propose various design solutions.
· Ensure maximum usage of templates and macros.
· To adhere and respect shift schedule and timings.
· To ensure flexibility and multi-tasking to work in different work groups and projects.
· To discuss with the counterparts in case the LE is not present.
· To ensure folder structure and CAD data management
· Ensure regular design reviews with Customer and LE.
· Uses appropriate software to develop 3D models and drawings that meet engineering specifications.
· Responsible for assigned zone / parts by LE.
