Job description

Role Purpose: The position is responsible for leading and managing the manufacturing operations of the company to meet the annual goals and strategic goals of the company. The position is responsible for developing and implementing a long-term manufacturing strategy that would enable cost competitiveness while ensuring high quality. It would also be responsible for ensuring that a culture of quality and continuous improvement is institutionalized in all the Plants.

Key Responsibilities: a. Conducting regular reviews and take updates on overall plant performance and if needed, direct for any alteration to meet the Plant profitability, delivery, or customer satisfaction. b. Safety is topmost priority. Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment. c. Ensure productivity and efficiency of the manufacturing functions and collaborative working amongst all. d. Responsible to review and analyze plant performance reports e.g., plant cost sheets, MIS, inventory reports, variance report, innovations and initiatives, gap analysis etc. and discuss the action plans analyze to present to the Vital management. e. Planning and ensuring achieving on time production targets & standard yield ratio defined by the organization, ensuring solvent and other recoveries as per defined standard norms, overseeing production processes, continuously improving timescales schedules. f. Regularly monitoring plants’ cost ratio vs. profitability and ensure the profitability goal of the business is met on month-on-month basis. g. Closely monitor plant cost centers to ensure they are well within parameters and provide solution in case of out of budgeted norms. h. Responsible to meet product cost as per the organization target. i. To adhered with the product Quality standards and constantly strive to achieve zero product failure & market complaints. j. Oversee to ensure plant maintenance activities, resources, PMs and AMs are adhered for uninterrupted production schedules. k. Overseeing plant project work and ensure on time completion as per standards. l. To plan and present yearly budget for the plants, OPEX and CAPEX both and adherence of the approved ones. m. Responsible to ensure plant EHS standards, programs and norms are followed. n. Responsible to chart of path for best manufacturing practices and ensure rightful implementation of the same. o. Define a procedure / plan for the training for a new / existing team members in line to overall skill building in PQDCSM (Productivity, Quality, Discipline, Cost, Safety, Morale). p. Continuously audit and develop & implement policies, procedures as a CAPA and ensure minimal repeat / stop loss to the plant / processes. q. Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels and highest levels of productivity. r. Ensure people initiatives are in line as per the plan. s. Responsible to ensure HR & IR Liasioning and Security are working in collaboration and all systems are working effectively. t. Ensure a strong housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered workstation. u. Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity.

Qualification and Experiences: a. Bachelors / Masters in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry with minimum 20+ years of relevant experience b. Specialization in Operations Management is must. c. Minimum 10 years of experience at leadership position managing multiple functions and stake holders is preferred.
