Job description
Oversee all aspects of inventory management and control, optimizing stock levels and minimizing carrying costs.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components, while maintaining favorable supplier relationships.
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the stores and warehouse, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and distribution of materials.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, receipts, issues, and returns, and prepare regular reports on inventory status and consumption trends.
Implement and manage the Just-In-Time (JIT) system to ensure minimal inventory levels while maintaining a precise coordination with suppliers to meet production needs efficiently.
Conduct ABC analysis to categorize materials into A, B, and C items, prioritizing inventory management efforts to focus on critical A-items.
Maintain a safety stock of essential items, mitigating the risk of stockouts caused by unexpected demand fluctuations or disruptions in the supply chain.
Implement and oversee the Kanban system, a pull-based approach that ensures inventory replenishment is based on actual consumption, with empty bins or cards serving as signals for replenishment.
Employ inventory rotation methods, such as First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and Last-In-First-Out (LIFO), to optimize stock usage and minimize the risk of obsolescence.
Lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) efforts, actively identifying and eliminating waste and inefficiencies in inventory management processes to enhance overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
