Job description
Context:
This role will oversee and manage the programming strategy and content selection for the Star Maa Music channel. It involves curating a diverse and engaging lineup of music-related content and special programming catering to the young audience. Additionally, this role will include analysing audience preferences, monitor ratings, and optimizing programming schedules to drive viewership and maximizing channel’s revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and executing programming strategies that align with the channel's overall vision and goals
Identifying and acquiring new music content, including music videos, albums, and exclusive interviews with artists
Creating and overseeing programming schedules to ensure a varied and engaging mix of content that appeals to the target audience
Collaborating with other departments, including marketing and sales, to create promotional campaigns and sponsorships that enhance the channel's visibility and revenue
Managing the team to ensure high-quality production standards are met
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of music programming through BARC ratings, viewership metrics, and feedback to make informed programming decisions
Managing budgets and resources effectively to optimize programming initiatives while staying within financial constraints
Working with the Programming Strategy team in conducting market research and audience analysis to identify trends, preferences, and opportunities for new programming concepts or formats
Developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals to secure exclusive content and collaborations
Performance Measures:
Increase average viewership ratings through innovative programming
Improve social media engagement by increasing interactions and followers
Achieving a target revenue goal of the channelfrom advertising and sponsorships
Securing exclusive content acquisitions or collaborations with prominent music industry partners
Increase viewer retention and improve program flow based on audience feedback
Implementing new and unique programming concepts or formats
Achieving programming objectives within the allocated budget
Increase the channel's market share compared to that of the competitors.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification: MBA or Postgraduate with 8-10 years’ work experience in a related role.
