About this role
Team Overview:
The Global Tax group oversees tax planning, tax reporting, and tax regulatory compliance for BlackRock and within global tax, US Tax provision & reporting team works on the effective tax rate forecasting for Blackrock, and quarterly / monthly Tax provision of US entities. The team is also responsible for tax footnote & disclosures for financial statements.
Job Description Overview:
Ensure that the operational and administrative US tax provision and federal compliance requirements for BlackRock, Inc. and its subsidiaries are met. Tax analyst will be primarily responsible for assisting with all US GAAP tax accounting & federal tax compliance matters
Key Responsibilities:
US GAAP tax financial reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting and effective tax rate forecasts
Prepare analysis, schedules, reconciliations and disclosures for the financial reporting of income taxes in accordance with FASB ASC 740
Deferred tax schedules, return to provision reconciliations, and FIN 48 analysis
Monthly tax account reconciliations
Help to ensure the company is in compliance with all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements for SOX
Assist with deliverables and correspondence with internal finance stakeholders and external financial statement auditors
Research the application of US GAAP tax accounting standards, US federal, state and local tax laws and court decisions to aid in corporate decision making on decisions with tax ramifications; update the Corporate / International Tax Supervisor on all matters of US federal and state taxation
US tax compliance
Provide support in preparation and review of US consolidated federal income tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates
Perform research on tax technical issues, such as consolidated filing positions and federal tax law changes
Assist with US federal tax audits and IRS notice correspondence
Other
Assist in the administration and ongoing refinement to tax financial reporting and compliance software (Onesource tax provision, Onesource FIN 48 module, CorpTax) and other tax technology applications
Support efforts to re-engineer business processes and improve reporting functions
Perform other tax project as assigned
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent from reputed University with emphasis in accounting, finance, or tax.
1 to 3 years of experience, preferably, of US GAAP tax reporting / provision in a public accounting firm or industry position
A general tax compliance experience in US corporate income tax return (Form 1120) will be considered a plus.
Experience with Oracle and / or US corporate tax software will be considered a plus (e.g., Onesource Tax Provision, Onesource UTP/FIN 48 module, CorpTax, etc)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong excel skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skill
