Are you interested in building web technologies and making an impact on millions of enterprise users Do you like shipping code at a rapid pace Oracle Design Engineering team is looking for hands-on technical manager to lead a team of developers to help transform the way customers use, configure and personalize our family of apps and services by leveraging fromthe next generation of web technologies to machine learning and AI capabilities. We need our team to be passionate, bring fresh ideas, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across all SaaS products as we continue to push technology and user experience forward.

As a hands-on technical software development manager, you will report directly to the Director and be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of Redwood Platform. The ideal candidate should have hands-on technical experience in working with UI technologies, a strong background in software development and management, with experience leading a team in an Agile and DevOps environment. You should be passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement and should be able to mentor and coach team members to help them develop their skills and achieve their career goals. Your experience in leading agile software development teams will allow you to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the software development process. You should be an excellent communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and should have experience in developing and presenting roadmaps and business cases to senior management. Your experience in leading cross-functional teams will enable you to work collaboratively with other teams across the world. Your technical experience will allow you to oversee the design of scalable and reliable systems as you collaborate with architects and highly experienced engineers. Most importantly, you should be a team player, someone who is eager to learn, passionate about people, and willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. You will also represent the team in various architecture reviews and release management forums.

In this role you will need to:

• Manage an engineering team that implements web components and applications for Oracle's SaaS
• Architect efficient and reusable systems that drive complex web applications
• Represent the engineering team in technical architecture discussions, security reviews
• Conduct detailed review of code written in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Architects, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products
• Analyze and provide technical solutions to complex problems
• Take the lead and drive key initiatives
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
• Be very technically hands-on and own/drive key end to end product/services
• Lead on both front end and backend services
• Build a high performing team by hiring and nurturing top talent

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Minimum 10years of experience
• 4+ years of experience leading teams in a product development environment, responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and operating their solution
  Proven track record of developing engineering talent, growing careers, and teams
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills
• Experience with at least one SPA framework/library: React, Angular, Vue, Knockout, etc.
• Experience with microservice architecture, REST APIs and related server-side technologies (e.g. Swagger, OpenAPI, Node.js)
• Working knowledge of tools such as NGINX, Docker, Kubernetes, etc
• Working knowledge of build automation, continuous integration, or continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Grunt, RunDeck, Ansible, etc.
• Experience in library development, monorepo
• Knowledge of web development best practices
• Understanding of REST APIs: consumption and development
• Deep understanding of web protocols and technologies such as JSON and XML
• Experience with GIT SCM
• Knowledge of work item management tools like Jira
• Focus on details when necessary
• Strong understanding of web page performance
• Eager to learn new stuff/technologies all the time
• Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
• Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with some of these technologies is a plus: ES6, SVG, Sass, Gulp.js, Grunt.js, Webpack, Docker, GraphQL etc.
• Experience with REST API development and related server-side technologies (e.g. Swagger, OpenAPI, Node.js)
• Experience architecting highly available, scalable, and secure systems
• Experience with Scrum and Agile methodology
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
