Overview:
The Grafana L3 Administrator is a senior technical role responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of complex Grafana environments. This individual provides escalated support, resolves complex issues, and ensures the stability, scalability, and optimal performance of Grafana instances.
Responsibilities:
1. Administration and Configuration: Manage, administer, and configure Grafana instances, including installation, upgrades, and patching.
2. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize Grafana performance, including query optimization, data storage, and dashboard responsiveness.
3. Issue Resolution: Provide Level 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues related to Grafana, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
4. Security Management: Implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, authentication mechanisms, and encryption, to safeguard Grafana environments.
5. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions to ensure continuous availability of Grafana services.
6. Monitoring and Alerting: Set up effective monitoring and alerting systems within Grafana to proactively identify issues and take necessary actions.
7. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles for Grafana administration and troubleshooting.
8. Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams such as DevOps, IT operations, and security to ensure Grafana aligns with organizational standards and requirements.
9. Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to accommodate growing data and user demands on Grafana instances.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- X years of hands-on experience as a Grafana administrator or in a similar role, handling complex Grafana environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Grafana architecture, deployment, configuration, and administration.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues and providing solutions for Grafana-related problems.
- Experience in performance tuning, optimizing queries, and maintaining large-scale Grafana installations.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, access controls, and encryption methods related to Grafana.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery strategies for Grafana.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred:
- Certification or training in Grafana administration or related technologies.
- Familiarity with other monitoring tools and technologies (Prometheus, InfluxDB, etc.).
The Grafana L3 Administrator role requires a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise in Grafana administration, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to manage and maintain highly available and performant Grafana environments
