Position Overview - Prepares to monitor new admissions by admitting patient to system.
- Observes cardiac monitor patterns under the supervision of nursing/medical staff members and reports cardiac monitor changes.
- Applies electrodes, troubleshoots any changes in rhythm or loss of signal and tracks patient movements while on the telemetry system.
- Monitors patients while off the unit for testing, communicates with other departments to ensure continuous monitoring of each patient.
- Performs Phlebotomy, glucometer testing and EKG responsibilities.
- Stocks Phlebotomy and IV trays for unit.
- Performs vital signs per unit protocol.
- Assists with CPR under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
- Performs clerical duties, computer system tasks, and supply maintenance.
- Performs cleaning and maintenance of telemetry unit upon discharge of patient.
