Your Role

This ' Tech Support Engineer' technical position on the BetaNXT Distributed Systems team is responsible for supporting multiple Windows, and Linux operating systems and environments. This role will require a strict adherence to best practices as our systems are required to be highly available, scalable, and secure. A focus on application availability, system reliability, and maintainability is critical for success of the BetaNXT business. This role is based in our Bangalore location

About The Team

Reporting to the Manager Distributed Systems, the successful candidate will become part of a team of IT professionals that provides support to a large corporate computing infrastructure, critical BetaNXT IT systems, and BetaNXT products where our distributed systems technologies are a critical component of the infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Install and support Windows 2019/ 2016 and RedHat Linux 9.x operating system.
  • Support server-based infrastructure residing in corporate data centers
  • Build and support Dell and HP server hardware
  • Work with and support VMware and Windows Hyper-V based virtualization environments.
  • Administer and support of Windows Active Directory domains
  • Maintain security and process awareness and work to increase compliancy
  • Perform system upgrades such as firmware, OS, security patch installation
  • Participate in team 'on call' rotation

Skills Required

  • 5+ years' experience supporting Linux and Windows server operating systems
  • 5+ years' experience supporting server-based applications environments
  • Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience in Hypervisor VM, VMware ESX 6.x and SSCM is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAN and RAID Technologies preferred
  • Knowledge with Cloud computing technologies AWS, AZURE, or OCI is a plus
  • MCSE or other technical certifications are a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team peers
  • Awareness to ITIL framework is a plus
  • Exposure to tools like ServiceNow, Jira and Remedy is a plus

Additional Information

Rotational shift position. 24X7 on-call support required and on a rotating basis. Weekend/holiday work may be necessary during special projects. Must demonstrate a self-motivated behavior as well as a willingness to work as part of a team. Communication skills are of utmost importance.
