Job description

1. Basic Function1.1. The FAS will provide on-site applications training and optimization on the Surface Plasmon Resonance, Flow Cytometers, XF analyzers, Imaging/ Multimode Microplate Reader (MMR) instruments & iCIEF instruments & consumables for end-users and the Field Sales team.1.2. The FAS will provide product training on our range of products sold to customers.1.3. The FAS will provide scientific and technical assistance to our Applications and Product Management teams.2. Duties and Responsibilities2.1 Develop expert level skills on various instrument softwares. Stay current on new assays.Develop advanced level skills with all instrumentation and software packages.2.2 Perform customer demonstrations on difficult applications, or where lengthy on-site data collection is required.2.3 Provide training on all instruments sold to customers on need basis.2.4 Provide post-training application training and optimization for new customers. Trouble-shoot assays and optimizedata.2.5 Phone and/or email communication in support of our product for customers and sales reps.2.6 Work with designated sales-reps to provide follow-on product and application training. This training will occur in the field.2.7 Work with interested customers in generating data for Application Notes on new or emerging applications.2.8 Interact with field-based application specialists from reagent and kit companies.2.9 Participate and represent Medispec at local/regional vendor shows and present seminars and posters.2.10 Prepare daily and/or weekly reports, using our CRM system regarding customer trainings, sales demonstrations and other field activities.3. Qualifications3.1 Education and/or Experience 3.1.1 Require an advanced science degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related major.3.1.2 Minimum of 2 years experience in an imaging core lab or HCS lab.3.2 Skills3.2.1 Advanced academic or industrial experience in using Flow cytometers, microscopy and imaging instrumentation, preferably in an HCS or imaging core lab.3.2.2 Advanced to Excellent knowledge of SPR, fluorescent imaging, widefield and/or confocal microscopy.3.2.3 Moderate to Excellent knowledge of Fluorescence and LUM based reader assays gained in academic or industriallab.Knowledge and experience with FP, TRF, FRET, and AlphaScreen preferred.3.2.4 Extensive image analysis experience. Familiarity with lmageJ, CellProfiler, etc.3.2.5 Extensive lab experience in designing and optimizing assays gained in academic or industrial setting.3.2.6 Strong ability to diagnose complex instrumentation or application issues.3.2.7 Strong computer skills, data reduction, and LIMS experience.3.2.8 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills.3.3 Other3.3.6 Travel: This position will require travel. Able to travel up to 50%.
