Sona Machinery Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our operations and drive strategic initiatives as we expand our verticals and set up a new manufacturing facility. As a leading manufacturer of machines for rice mills and provider of complete projects for rice mills and grain milling, along with solutions for the ethanol industry, our company is committed to innovation and excellence. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to develop and implement strategies that support our growth objectives while maintaining operational efficiency and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in operations management, strategic planning, and business development within the manufacturing industry. Key Responsibilities Areas (KRA): Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans to expand verticals into parboiling, drying, automation, and other relevant areas. Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth and market penetration. Ensure alignment of operations with overall corporate objectives and targets. Operations Management : Oversee day-to-day operations of manufacturing, supply chain, and project management functions. Streamline processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity. Implement best practices for quality control and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. New Facility Setup: Lead the establishment of a new manufacturing facility, including site selection, design, construction, and commissioning. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of the project. Develop operational plans for the new facility to optimize production capacity and resource utilization. Leadership and Team Development: Provide strong leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Mentor and develop managers and staff to enhance their skills and capabilities. Build cross-functional teams to support new initiatives and projects. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress against strategic objectives. Analyze operational data and financial reports to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors. Risk Management and Compliance: Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Establish and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Proven track record of driving business growth, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, project management methodologies, and industry best practices. Experience in setting up new manufacturing facilities is highly desirable. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a results-oriented mindset.
