Tamana is a non-profit organization based in New Delhi, India, established in 1984, for the purpose of providing rehabilitative services for the mentally challenged, multiply disabled, and those on the autism spectrum. Tamana has three centers in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi catering to differently-abled children and adults from economically weaker sections of society. Tamana has been accredited & granted a Special Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2005.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Occupational Therapist at one of the Tamana's centres in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for working with children and young adults with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities to help them enhance their abilities to perform daily life activities. The Occupational Therapist will be required to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapy sessions according to the individual needs of each student and work in close collaboration with other healthcare professionals and staff at Tamana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, or related field from a recognized institution
• Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation skills.
• Excellent written and oral Communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi is a plus)
• Experience working with people with disabilities, particularly children and adults on the autism spectrum
• Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Registration with RCI is mandatory.
• Experience in assistive technology, sensory integration, and behavioral therapy techniques is an added advantage
