Job description
Job Description :- The Infrastructure Architect will work to design the strategic direction of information systems and networks to support the infrastructure lifecycle of the business in an Agile environment. - Responsibilities will include assessment of current solutions to ensure that all systems are working at optimal levels, provide recommendations for improvement and support the development of new technologies and system requirements.- Acting as a trusted advisor to provide ongoing support and advice, to ensure the Infrastructure continues to support the fluctuating demand patterns of the business.- Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, global teams as well as IT operations & Devops to optimise our IT Infrastructure and leading on various technical changes & projects. Priorities for the role include :- Provide leadership for Infrastructure projects, working closely with the project & change leads.- Develop and maintain a strategic approach for the delivery of ICT based on key business drivers and architectural best practice.- Provide cross project architectural governance and guidance.- Monitor and report on project compliance and alignment to ICT strategy.- Review of systems and baseline costs to assist in rightsizing of infrastructure.- Assessment of security and sustainability of current and future solutions.- Based on knowledge and analysis, recommend improvements and alternative technologies to support the goals of the business.- Lead the design and review process for new systems, documenting technical designs, security and compliance for integration of new solutions.- Technical lead for the design and smooth operation of the company networks.- Working across Agile Squads at a foundation level to create integration plans for deployment of new solutions.- Providing technical troubleshooting, acting as an escalation lead for the IT support teams- Provide root cause analysis for issues affecting the business.- Working with Randstad global IT and other strategic partners to maximise shared knowledge & expertise, benefitting from previous lessons learnt of other strategic and technology changes. - Lead & support the transition from Design/Pilot through to roll-out phases, providing guidance & support to implementation teams.- Transition management to ensure post going live changes are fully documented & handed over the IT Support teamsKey performance indicators :- Delivery of infrastructure changes across squads.- Delivery of documentation repository for Randstad UK systems.- Establish close working links with the business, other Randstad countries and working groups.- Development of end to end time based technology roadmap.- Cost and performance optimisation of Randstad UK infrastructure and networks.- Act as lead on Infrastructure changes. Candidate Profile :- A track record of Infrastructure Architecture and demonstrable hands-on technical information security experience.- Expert-level knowledge of IT technologies and security principles.- Broad knowledge of business processes including DR, BCP and risk management.- Able to think laterally and constructively and question established processes.- Knowledge and understanding of corporate policy and business strategy.- Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels.Personal specification :Criteria Essential Desirable :Education : AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Salesforce ArchitectExperience : Extensive knowledge with Public Cloud in particular AWS and Google Cloud- Experience in producing and implementing infrastructure designs against a business case - Experience within the recruitment industry- Working within an Agile environmentSkills and Abilities : - Deep IT Technical knowledge to support implementation of new technologies and solutions- Ability to articulate complex requirements as easy to understand security designs to all levels of the organisation- Reporting and liaising with stakeholders.- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills- Working with external SaaS vendors- Understanding of current and emerging trends within the IT industry- Excellent knowledge of working with Google Workspace and AWS Building Blocks : - Randstad have a strong culture in ensuring our people are focussed to deliver against 4 building blocks which underpin all our activities. - The desired behaviours against these building blocks are summarised below.Excellent Execution : - Provides high quality expertise within IT. - Able to persuade and convince others in a direct or indirect way whilst demonstrating a strong drive and commitment for delivery outstanding results.Best people :- Focus on continuous development of all business lines and produce practical solutions in line with the Randstad's needs. - Have the composure to stand back, take a dispassionate view and make well-considered decisions, even in stressful circumstances.Strong concepts :- Able to understand the business environment and Randstad's needs in order to meet expectations and requirements.Superior brands :- Be open and honest in your word and deed.
