Position Summary Analyses, designs, develops, and implements a wide range of instructional materials and services including eLearning, instructor-led training, print and online media, job aids, training program documentation, needs analysis and program implementation, and technical writing tasks. Develops instructional materials and services and assists in the design of technology-based courses. Assists employees and customers to learn about, become proficient in, and apply appropriate instructional technology. May conduct classroom or on-line training.
Responsibilities And Duties - Conducts needs assessments and develops performance-based learning objectives and strategic learning assessments. Develops the basis for various curriculums in order to meet client training goals. Recommends methods of course design, technology, and instructional delivery options. Defines instructional, learning, or performance objectives.
- Collaborates with departments and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather instruction content or conducts research to be able to create or develop instructional content for course modules.
- Designs and develops eLearning courses, learning paths, training modules, and blended training/learning and instructional materials and products for technology-based design of courses using a variety of multi-media tools. Develops and maintains webinar presentations, job aids, lesson plans and materials, video scripts, screen casts, surveys, and assessments. Designs learning products, including web-based teaching aids or electronic performance support systems.
- Designs instructional aids for various instructor-led classroom or online uses. Develops instructional materials such as lesson plans, handouts, or testing tools. Occasionally, participates in various training activities for employees, partners, and customers as assigned.
- Creates and maintains a library of instructional materials. Periodically reviews and updates all knowledge-based training content in order to ensure all knowledge is consistent, standardized, accurate and relevant.
- Analyzes and evaluates the design of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies and programs or courseware standards. Assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of instruction delivery according to the application of instructional technology and methods of learning theory and knowledge transfer.
- May perform other job related duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Experiences Must be an independent self-starter fully skilled in the application of standard learning principles, theories, concepts, and techniques related to technical solution-based product training and online learning. Must have demonstrated proficiency with developing engaging e-learning. Must have a working knowledge of curriculum development, adult learning methodologies, and technical writing. Must have excellent interpersonal communications skills and demonstrate advanced written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent time management, decision making and organization skills and be able to work well with others as part of a team.
Preferred - Software training background particularly in an IT industry
- Experience with Instructional design authoring tools, i.e., Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate, etc.
- Exposure to instructor-based training methods within a classroom or recording studio setting.
- Experience writing and updating engineer-level certification exams
- Minimum of (3) years of professional experience.

Education/Certifications Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Training and Development, English, Communications or related disciplines or any combination of education and experience based on the minimum qualifications defined in the table above is required.
