About the company:
Our client is the world's leading smart wind power technology and energy storage solution company with headquarters in Shanghai. They are growing rapidly and are looking for a Blade Operations Manager to lead their manufacturing operations in India, who brings fresh ideas to play a leading role in the process improvement of the factory. This role reports to the Regional Director India based in Mumbai, and will manage the Wind Blade manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities
- Production Leadership: Lead Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Industrial Engineering (IE), and Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) teams to achieve production goals and quality standards.
- Financial Management: Develop and execute production budgets, manage capital and operational expenses (Capex and Opex), and optimize working capital to maximize efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at both the unit and consolidated levels, allocating resources effectively to meet established objectives.
- Cost Control: Identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality, collaborating closely with the production team to enhance productivity.
- Lean Manufacturing: Implement modern lean manufacturing concepts and continuously improve processes, including adherence to the 5S concept.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality team to ensure product consistency and minimize scrap rates through trend analysis and process improvements.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels for raw materials and finished products to optimize cash flow generation.
- Maintenance Policies: Establish and enforce equipment maintenance policies to ensure operational efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance: Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to maintain a safe working environment and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Employee Development: Define training programs and conduct performance appraisals, providing coaching and guidance to operations employees.
- Relationship Management: Coordinate key account visits, negotiate union contracts if applicable, and manage relationships with the workforce.
- Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely industrial monthly reporting, including KPIs, analysis, and corrective actions.
- Travel as required for business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field
- 20+ years of experience in field
- Experience in plant management and manufacturing operations
- Strong communication, management and supervisory skills
- Autonomous and hands-on leader who can implement process improvements
