Industrial Hygienist/Provincial Lead - Full Time (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

With offices across Canada, Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences LP is a niche forensic engineering, environmental science, and remediation consulting firm that is a leader in providing services to insurance and risk management clients.

Pario is currently seeking an Industrial Hygienist/Provincial Lead to join our industrial hygiene team in the GTA Region, Ontario. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance and manage projects typically related to designated substances, mould, indoor air quality and other chemical, physical and biohazardous risks in residential and commercial/industrial spaces. The right individual will need to be a dynamic, self-motivated and results-oriented professional. While these projects will involve providing expert advice and issuing scientific reports, to support our clients closing their files, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree and related professional designation (P.Eng, ROH, ROHt or CIH), with a minimum of five years' experience within the industrial hygiene field . Experience working within the insurance industry is an asset.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for related commercial and residential claims including, but not limited to: designated substance survey; asbestos assessment and abatement;; mold and water damage assessment and abatement, interior air quality assessments and illicit substance testing and clandestine lab remediation
  • Technical report writing and peer review of other industrial hygiene team members
  • Communication and relationship development with clients
  • Establishment and adherence to budgets and timelines
  • Risk assessment and problem solving
  • Coordination and planning of medium to large scale abatement projects alongside contractors and stakeholders
  • Participate in client presentations and promotional activities
  • Develop and maintain industry leading service levels.

Requirements

  • Degree and related professional designation (P.Eng, ROH, ROHt or CIH)
  • A minimum of five years' experience within the industrial hygiene field
  • Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Mentoring experience
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region
  • Travel will be in the GTA and Golden Horseshoe regions with some limited travel outside of these areas
  • Successful candidate must have a flexible schedule; willingness to work after hours and on weekends to address emergency projects when required
