Job description
We are looking to recruit an experienced Flood Risk Modeller in ourBangalore office who will be a key member of our Infrastructure group to work on projects in India and across the world.
Educational Qualifications:
BE BTech from in civil engineering and postgraduate in Water Resource management, from institute of repute
Hydrology Knowledge:
. Understanding of hydrological processes, including rainfall-runoff modeling.
. Proficiency in using hydrological models such as HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar tools.
Hydraulic Knowledge:
. Good competencyin hydraulic modeling software like HEC-RAS, MIKE Flood, or similar platforms.
. Ability to simulate river and floodplain hydraulics
. GIS Proficiency:
. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data analysis and visualization.
. Familiarity with GIS software like ArcGIS or QGIS.
Data Analysis:
. should have data analysis skills for processing and interpreting hydrological and meteorological data.
. Experience in statistical analysis for flood risk assessment.:
. Ability to assess flood risks, including floodplain mapping and identification of vulnerable areas.
. Knowledge of flood hazard zoning and flood damage estimation.
Climate Change Adaptation:
. Understanding of climate change impacts on flood risk and adaptation strategies.
. Understanding of climate modeling or access to climate projection data.
Communication Skills:
. Effective communication to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
. Report writing and presentation skills.
Problem-Solving Skills:
. Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in flood modeling and management.
Continuous Learning:
. Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in flood modeling techniques and technologies.
