Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our team. As a Principal Data Scientist, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced data science solutions to address complex business challenges. You will be responsible for leveraging cutting-edge techniques in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data mining to extract insights from large datasets and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, proven leadership abilities, and a track record of delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative data science solutions to solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
- Apply advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Develop predictive models, optimization algorithms, and other analytical tools to support decision-making processes.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs, challenges, and goals, and translate them into data science solutions that drive value.
- Lead and facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to gather requirements, communicate findings, and solicit feedback from stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and related fields, and evaluate their applicability to our business challenges.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders through clear and compelling visualizations, reports, and presentations.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data science, including data quality assessment, feature engineering, model evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data science solutions into production systems and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
Requirements
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 7-9 years of experience in a data science role, with a track record of delivering impactful solutions to complex business problems.
- Expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques, with hands-on experience in tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Strong programming skills and proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of leading and mentoring teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of deep learning techniques and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience working in industries such as e-commerce, banking & and finance, or telecommunications.
- Certifications in data science or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate).
