Growth Engineering is Looking for: Role Overview: As a Full Stack Developer, you will collaborate closely with a small team to develop and enhance our acclaimed learnTech solutions. Operating within a fully remote environment, you will have the autonomy to manage your schedule. Your primary focus will encompass modernizing our tech stack, transitioning from legacy PHP to streamlined Laravel/React frameworks. This role presents an opportunity to make significant contributions to our product suite, which includes a web-based Learning Management System (LMS), bite-sized learning app, and content authoring tool.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure applications utilizing PHP Laravel and React.
- Participate in the ongoing migration process from legacy PHP to modern Laravel/React architecture, ensuring code cleanliness, readability, and testability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement reusable components, emphasizing automated testing with PHPUnit and Jest.
- Write efficient and secure MySQL queries, adhering to web security best practices.
- Continuously strive for personal and professional growth, remaining abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration within a remote setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Linux environments, with a keen understanding of scalability and performance considerations.
- Contribute to technical discussions and documentation, fostering knowledge-sharing and team cohesion.
- Exhibit adaptability in a fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Engage in the improvement of UX/UI, adhering to best practices and enhancing overall user experience.

This Role Requires: Technical Stacks: - Backend: AWS, PHP, Laravel
- Frontend: React, Typescript, Tailwind, Storybook
- Data: MySQL, MongoDB
- Tooling: PHPUnit, Jest, Docker
Requirement: - 2+ years experience working with Laravel and building reusable components with React
- An understanding of the importance of automated testing and a passion for writing full testable code (we use PHPUnit and Jest)
- Ability to write secure and performant queries for MySQL - with or without Eloquent
- A good understanding of web security best practices
- A keen desire to learn and a focus on continuous improvement for tech, tools, processes, product and yourself
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable within a Linux environment
- Good understanding of scalability and performance considerations with experience working on high user/traffic platforms
- Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies - HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL
- Ability to use your own initiative and take control of projects/solutions
- A decent understanding of npm/webpack
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, being reactive to change whilst being able to manage your commitments
- Always keen to share your knowledge and bring up the team around you
- You're quite happy contributing to technical discussions and documentation
What Would Be Nice To Have - Experience of working with SCORM and/or xAPI
- Experience working on a multi-tenant SaaS platform
- Experience in modernising or migrating away from legacy systems
- A passion for beautiful UI and building great UX
- Experience building REST APIs
- Knowledge of implementing and maintaining CSS frameworks
Experience with the following tech: - Docker
- Hybrid app frameworks (we use ionicframework)
- Pub/sub and message queue architectures
- Web sockets
