Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:
This is a Senior Developer role in SWIFT Gateway application role. This role will be focus on designing and the developing solutions following a change request within the Barclays SWIFT Infrastructure. Changes will mainly relate to FileAct , SEPA Classic and Instant Payments and Interact Messages Payments traffic but may include changes to other SWIFT infrastructure components that the SWIFT Programme are responsible for.
Role holder will work closely with SWIFT architect and support the overall delivery of the change working with E2E delivery teams – Build, Test and Implementation as well as supporting the Project Manager.
What will you be doing?
• Business requirements gathering – SWIFT
• Creation of SWIFT Application Functional Design Specification.
• System Impact Analysis.
• Work closely with SWIFT architect as required in defining solutions and supporting SWIFT strategy/roadmap definition.
• Ensure design artefacts meet the necessary project quality standards.
• Adoption of AGILE methodologies to create User Stories/ JIRA boards wherever applicable
• Strong Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be able to deliver assigned tasks independently with minimum or no supervision
• Deliver designs in alignment with Payments Architecture and highlight any deviations/ seek dispensations as appropriate
• Must have worked in strong control environment and must adhere to strict risk and controls framework to deliver designs that are compliant with Group Risk and control framework.
• Ability to coordinate with Vendor teams to extract work and deliverables on time. Fast track sign-offs via appropriate methodologies in view of some strict deadlines is expected.
What we’re looking for:
• Must have a technical degree
• Should have relevant development experience, essential skills are,
o Previous experience in design and demonstration of design attributes is needed.
o Excellent understanding of SWIFT Infrastructure is essential.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to be able to effectively communicate technical change to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Very good/Excellent knowledge of SWIFT technologies and messaging, particularly FileAct, Interact and Instant Payments
o Strong Knowledge and hands-on knowledge of implementing SWIFT CSP controls
o Collaboration with senior designers from other areas is required when development is part of a wider set of interdependent system changes.
o Excellent know how of Payments applications and their landscape is desired. The expectation is to be delivery ready with minimum hand holding and KT.
o Exposure to AGILE toolsets (JIRA, Confluence) and JQL (Jira Query) with a view to supporting efficient tracking of Design deliverables.
o Strong Knowledge of SWIFT Products like SAG, SNL, SAA, AWP, SWIFTNet Browse services
o Knowledge of designing resilient solutions fo 24x7x365 service is a must.
o Knowledge of Gateway product like SWIFT AMH or BOX Intercope is a huge plus.
o Knowledge of working on SWIFT Portal for Ordering, Support, etc
o Working knowledge on updating products for SWIFT Annual Standards/releases/mandatory application patching/quarterly security patches
o Knowledge of various payments schemes like SEPA, TARGET2, CHAPS, etc.
o Good Knowledge of SSL connectivity of Middleware products like IBM MQ, Kafka.
o Good understanding of of Network segmentation concepts is mandatory
o Strong knowledge of Relational database like Oracle, SQL server, etc is required
o Knowledge of Web layer middleware component like Jboss or Tomcat is an added plus
o Strong ability to work with architects for application design
o Ability to evaluate and challenge architectural decisions
o DevOps tools knowledge like GIT , Jenkins, CHEF is preferred
