Job description
Software Engineer (Networking)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand requirements and translate them into software design.
- Develop complex packet forwarding features in areas such as IPv4/IPv6/MPLS, EVPN-VxLAN, Multicast, Firewall/Filter, Cos, and DHCP.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve complex microkernel/Linux issues.
- Drive innovation by working with cross-functional teams to address challenging problems.
- Assist in solving complex customer issues and queries reported from the field, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to sustaining existing features.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E. or B.Tech) from a reputed institution in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in C/C++/Python programming, design, problem-solving, and debugging.
- Strong networking background.
- Previous experience with software development on routers and switches is desirable.
- Familiarity with datapath ASICs (such as Broadcom, Mellanox, Innovium, Barefoot, or other NPUs) is highly advantageous.
- Currently playing a strong technical role.
- Exposure to multi-core software architectures.
- Clear understanding of the product development cycle, technical requirements, and concepts related to computer architecture and data structures.
- Proven track record of delivering software projects on time and with high quality.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
