About G& BTheconglomerate/group-level Lead commercial attorney will be a key member of a central legal team which provides legal support on a very wide range of commercial matters to businesses in 14 different sectors spanning the entire spectrum of B2B, B2C and B2G business segments. Some of these businesses are pan-India and some global in scale. A team of corporate lawyers will report into this position. This position reports directly to the Group General Counsel.This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and motivated in-house lawyer looking to manage and further develop a team of corporate lawyers supporting a wide range of industries. The businesses span the following sectors: Aerospace, Appliances (household), Construction materials and Real Estate, Electrical and Electronics, Furniture and Interiors, specialty motors, locks and security solutions, Defence products, Industrial tools, storage and warehousing products and Information Technology services.KRA:Generating high quality transaction documentsProviding sound legal advice on a range of lawsProcess ImprovementsKnowledge management and capacity buildingHiring and training of team membersJob Description:Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements (with suppliers and clients) and transaction documents by incorporating appropriate clauses in order to protect organisation from legal, commercial and regulatory risks.Steering risk mitigation discussion with the business team to enable business team to understand the legal position and proposition. Storing contracts, along with risk mitigation measures in electronic platform and making them available to senior management in the form of reports or otherwise as required.Providing accurate legal advice to BUs on various legal and business issues. Reviewing new and existing transactions from competition law angle and provide framework in order to be in compliant with competition law.Ensuring that data privacy compliances are followed to its spirit by Business units and escalating any non-compliances indicated by privacy counsel to data protection officer.Assisting audit team in interpretation of covid notification to ensure compliances.Creating awareness and training in relation to the indicated compliance for legal team and business units.Creation and regular updation of standard drafts (including PO). Creation of a knowledge repository on frequently faced challenges with business units eg Public procurement policy, stamp duty, sales schemes, limitation of liability, MSME, Bank Guarantees.Set up new internal processes and strengthen existing processes to align with organizational objects & needs.Developing expertise in various areas of laws. Updating the business team about the changes in the relevant laws. Conducting workshops and seminars for internal business clients.Defining roles and responsibilities of new hires and creating a job description. Shortlisting candidates and conducting interviews.Familiarizing new lawyers in the team with G& B’s processes and legal positions. Assisting new lawyers onboarding and actively monitoring their work during the initial phase.Providing new lawyers training essential for elevating their work performance.Requisite Qualification & Experience L.L.B from a reputed Indian University10-12 years of work experienceSpecial Skills Required Communication SkillsAnalytical SkillsNegotiationDraftingTeam Management
