Job description
The role of a Bending Operator involves various tasks related to operating bending machines to shape metal workpieces.
- Setting up and operating bending machines to bend metal workpieces according to specifications.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints drawings and job orders to determine setups and sequences of operations.
- Selecting aligning and securing holding fixtures attachments and materials on machines.
- Observing machine operations to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions adjusting machine controls as necessary.
- Checking workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Monitoring machine operations and production to ensure the production schedule is met.
- Inspecting and measuring workpieces to verify accuracy of machine settings and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Performing routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
