Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  
• Experience being a direct manager of engineers and creating and delivering on a strategy.
  
• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
• Experience in C++, Java, Python, or GO.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of experience in software development.
  
• 3 years of experience in a people management role.
  
• Experience developing software or infrastructure for scalable distributed systems.
  
• Experience with Cloud database technologies.

In this role you will collaborate to solve distributed systems problems and make a significant impact at Google. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will shape strategies, overcome technical hurdles, and create migration and observability experiences for Spanner customers.

• Manage distributed system challenges and craft innovative solutions that make migrations seamless for customers.
  
• Influence how businesses leverage Spanner.
  
• Chart the technical direction of migration tooling.
  
• Collaborate with senior Tech Leads (TL) and principle engineers.
