Position Summary
Focus of the role includes:
- Responsible for managing pricing for Nepal
- Develop and support the team for various activities:
- Support automation projects
- Provide production steward reviews for new Prophet models for pricing new Products
- Develop strong working relationships and strategic partnerships with internal clients (e.g. Dev team, QA team, local office, IT and other users of models) to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction
- Lead a team of Noida/Nepal based actuarial students to support Senior Manager and ensure critical focus on core deliverables throughout.
Job Responsibilities To support the delivery of the following objectives: - Develop/enhance pricing models for new product initiatives
- Price products using appropriate assumptions and ensure financials and risks meets company's guidelines
- Able to communicate effectively and present the financial metrics to Appointed Actuary and Regional Office to seek for product approval, based on the company's guidelines on risk and profitability
- Coordinate efforts to file applications with various stakeholder to allow operations of products and services
- Direct efforts to obtain regulatory approval to introduce new viable insurance products to the marketplace
- Work closely with department management to introduce new products and features into the underwriting and claims departments daily function in addition to ensuring that all relevant business units are equipped with the necessary tools and data to economically deliver insurance products
- Contribute knowledge and expertise toward executive presentations to the senior management, Press Releases.
- Active delegation and execution of work while maintaining strong focus on quality, timeliness, and effective communications
- Provide desired output using actuarial software like PolySystems/Prophet/Product pricing related system.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Position: - Review necessary enhancements to the Pricing Models.
- Validation of changes made in the Models for Pricing.
- Contributing towards good team morale and positive team engagement and professional development
- Ensuring excellent communication between Noida/Nepal based team and stakeholders based in different geographical locations
- Taking ownership of work; clearly flagging any issues and goal delivery concerns to senior leadership team
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Education - Should be a Graduate preferably in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Stats/ Commerce Stream
Experience - Around 5 years of actuarial experience with 8+ actuarial exams and experience in Pricing.
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
Essential experience, skills and competencies: - Respectful of deadlines, discipline, and process, yet flexible and pragmatic within a growing business
- Capable of working autonomously or with a team, and of balancing own initiative with advice from others
- Able to navigate through complex problems and organisations to achieve results and deliver solutions
- Able to communicate complex issues to non-experts
- Excellent Excel/VB/ VBA skills
- PROPHET and POLYSYSTEMS models.
- Knowledge of SQL, R and ability to learn new software.
