L2 IT Support Engineer - Patching and Infrastructure Specialist (Troubleshooting - Server Storage VMware + Patch)
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the client manager for shift priorities.
· Manage timely patching and troubleshooting for 961 servers, ensuring security.
· Create and maintain SOPs for Level 1 resources and provide training.
· Utilize advanced software (VMware vCenter, iLO Amplifier, VMware Velo Cloud, and Logic Monitor) for infrastructure management.
· Proactively identify and resolve complex issues; escalate Level 1 tickets.
· Configure, add and enhance monitoring platforms and devices.
· Maintain and improve the Logic Monitor dashboard, conduct audits, and generate reports.
· Manage NAS storage devices, escalating complex issues.
· Use Fresh Service for ticket management.
· Collaborate with Level 3 for issue resolution.
· Mentor Level 1, sharing advanced expertise in infrastructure management and troubleshooting.
· Hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant rack servers.
· Knowledge of HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) management for remote server administration
· Expertise in HPE Smart Array RAID controllers for storage management
· Familiarity with HPE OneView for server infrastructure management and monitoring
· Skilled in installing, configuring, and maintaining HPE server hardware components.
· Knowledge of storage technologies like SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage)
· Experience in configuring and managing storage arrays and storage protocols
· Skill in integrating storage solutions with VMware environments for VM data storage.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
· 4–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure support, firmware patching, and hypervisor management
· Expertise in advanced patching processes and tools (e.g., iLO Amplifier, vCenter Lifecycle)
· Proficiency in VMware vCenter, ESXi, and HPE servers
· Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and effective communication
· IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, JNCIA, CCNA, MCP, VCP, or higher) are highly valued.
· Proficiency in VMware vSphere and vCenter for virtual machine management
· Experience with VMware ESXi installation, configuration, and administration
· Knowledge of VMware High Availability (HA) and Fault Tolerance (FT) for ensuring VM availability.
· Understanding VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) for resource optimization
· Skill in creating and managing virtual networks and virtual storage within VMware environments.
· Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues in VMware and HPE rack server environments.
· Experience with hardware component replacement and upgrades, such as memory, storage, and network adapters
· Ability to troubleshoot server boot and hardware connectivity problems.
