Position Overview:
We are embarking on an exciting journey to establish a state-of-the-art first ever Li-ion Cell Gigafactory in India, and we are in search of an exceptional Production Engineering Manager for Cell Electrode to lead a dynamic team of process, equipment, and controls engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the intricacies of high-volume mass production in automated rubber or paper industries along with a proven track record in overseeing installation, commissioning, and successful ramp-up of production lines. As the Cell Electrode Production Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless Cell Electrode processes, and driving our mission to revolutionize the energy solutions industry. Responsibilities: Cell Electrode Strategy and Implementation: Develop and execute robust Cell Electrode strategies that align with our production goals, taking into consideration high-volume output, efficiency, and quality. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Cell Electrode strategies into the overall production plan, ensuring synergy and alignment with the downstream. Installation, Commissioning, and Ramp-Up: Lead the installation and commissioning of production lines, ensuring all equipment and processes are calibrated, tested, and validated to meet design specifications. Oversee the ramp-up phase, managing all aspects of production including staffing, training, process optimization, and equipment performance. Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the Cell Electrode process. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data-driven insights to refine production methodologies and achieve optimal performance. Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership to a diverse team of process engineers, equipment engineers, and controls engineers. Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving. Leading it by example. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth and development. Technology Integration and Innovation: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends related to Li-ion cell manufacturing. Evaluate and recommend advanced technologies and automation solutions that align with our production goals and enhance overall efficiency. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Collaborate closely with quality control teams to ensure that all Cell Electrode processes adhere to stringent quality standards. Implement quality control measures and systems to identify defects early and minimize production interruptions. Project Management and Reporting: Manage multiple complex projects concurrently, ensuring they are executed within established timelines and budgets. Generate comprehensive reports on production performance, equipment reliability, and key performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making. Qualifications: Master’s degree in engineering or a related field. Extensive hands-on experience (7+ years) in leading production engineering, process optimization, and team management within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience within Li-ion cell production and/or automated rubber or paper industries is a preference, but not a must-have. Proven expertise in overseeing installation, commissioning, and successful ramp-up of mass production lines. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Analytical thinker with a strong problem-solving mindset. Knowledge of lean methodologies, and process simulation tools. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Proficiency in project management and multitasking. Familiarity with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices within the energy storage sector.
