Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Senior Product Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will spearhead the design and development of medical mechanical products, leveraging expertise in embedded systems, AI, kinematics, heat transfer, and mechanics. A deep understanding of new product development, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), manufacturing processes, and ISO 13485 standards is essential. The role demands a proactive approach, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a track record of building products from inception to realization.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of medical mechanical products (Actuators, Motors, etc), integrating embedded systems and AI technologies.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of kinematics, heat transfer, and mechanics to optimize product performance and functionality.
Drive the creation of products from scratch, demonstrating a strong understanding of the entire product development lifecycle.
Ensure designs align with manufacturing requirements and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles for efficient production.
Proficiently apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methodologies to design specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into innovative and feasible product designs.
Maintain a strong focus on quality, adhering to ISO 13485 standards throughout the design and development process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in new product development within the medical device industry.
Proven expertise in embedded systems, AI, kinematics, heat transfer, and mechanics.
Extensive knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and GD&T.
Experience in successfully building products from concept to production is highly advantageous.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage a 54-hour work week.
Strong familiarity with ISO 13485 standards and their application in product development.
