Sourcing Specialist

Role and Responsibilities:
- Search for Manufacturers / Distributors / Wholesalers for the items in IMPA (International Maritime Purchasing Association) catalogue in various ports to procure standard store/industrial items at the most competitive cost.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers including data collection and organization.
- Prepare purchase proposals and counter proposals.
- Formulate policies to improve the companys economic position.
- Develop working relationships with new suppliers through research meetings and finalize terms of sale.
- Complete buying duties including contacting suppliers creating purchase orders and issuing payment.
- Maintain detailed records of all purchases including costs items ordered fulfilment accuracy and issue resolution.
- Create purchase orders according to suppliers requirements and distribute copies to relevant departments.
- Source commonly ordered consumable products and list suppliers online.
- Find multiple vendors for each product to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
- Compile collected data and segregate it as per IMPA Chapters.
- Liaise with the IT team for smooth uploading of data.
- Check for the lowest available price on different platforms for vendors without images or pricing.
- Follow up with operations teams on ongoing enquiries for consumable products.
- Familiarize with IMPA catalogue and associated terminologies.
- Collate all information including transportation charges and efficiently manage the vendor database.
- Upgrade knowledge on various categories especially hand tools power tools electrical and deck.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Engineering graduate (Civil and Electrical preferred no consideration for Computer Science or IT).
- Good knowledge of technical items in ship stores.
- Proficient in MS Excel including Vlookup & Hlookup.
- Good understanding of product categories and HSN codes.
- Experience in dealing with consumables preferably in the industrial ecommerce segment.
- Decent verbal and written communication skills.
