Our company has pushed for an 'API First' approach to surfacing our business capabilities to our EG developer community. We will be building out a full-stack platform that allows API providers and API consumers to be productive in end-to-end flows from onboarding to transacting and evolving their technical and business successes.

In this role, you will focus on enabling solutions for domain teams to seamlessly onboard the platform, from conceptualization to design and implementation. As a Director, Software Development Engineering, you will be driving the thought leadership in this space to build a first-class approach to enable the success of the domain teams.

What You'll Do

  • Identify the interrelatedness of work activities across teams and recommend improvements to processes to increase effectiveness
  • Manage and lead the product development lifecycle to reduce time to market, improve product quality and ensure product success
  • Partner with leaders across all EG to collaboratively solve problems
  • Build relationships with leaders across the organization to understand business problems and apply a technology lens to solve them
  • Advocate for designing software that is scalable, resilient and stable
  • Make decisions on product technology direction based on deep subject matter knowledge
  • Lead others in resolving technical issues in a timely manner; follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Partner with the business to integrate new technologies into business solutions; create and communicate a vision of the technology requirements for the future state of the business
  • Notice inefficiencies in procedures across teams or inefficient use of teams. Indicate technology areas of improvement at brand level
  • Review the skill and expertise requirements across the department or multiple teams and ensure that enough people are trained or cross-trained to achieve work goals
  • Create contingency resource plans to ensure continuity of work processes in the face of a delay or shortage in financial or material resources
  • Recognize and reward appropriate resource utilization and creative suggestions to gain efficiency in resource usage
  • Identify and mentor critical talent within subdivision

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • Equivalent experience includes:
  • Managed at least two people managers and executed capacity planning and allocation for a team size of 30+
  • You have built a strategy and driven a roadmap for a multi-product, cross-functional program across multiple years
  • Have strong technical acumen, which allows you to be responsible for several technical domains and choices recommended in a team and then implement them involving several technologies
  • Have presented new technology choice to technical and non-technical observers
  • Guide others to make well-defined technical choices and be an expert in multiple domains
  • Have built strong teams by mentoring managers to empower team members. You have also mentored employees outside of your direct organization
  • Have delivered solutions to business problems spanning a business unit
  • Have collaborated closely with the product team to deliver and influence across multiple teams spanning a business unit
