Job description
As a Sr Software Development Engineer in Test SDET your typical day might include . This position also focuses on Uber Engineering Initiatives, Tools for release activities and security engineering as it applies to the SAP Ariba OnDemand platform, its software stack, and the underlying infrastructure. The individual should have a passion for Java, problem solving, analytical skills, Quality, Automation, security and agile principles. The software stacks or primary technology areas are Java, Web, REST, Kubernetes, Docker, Micro services, Istio, Katalon, Spring Boot. Team works on test automation areas like Junit Automation, Rest API Automation, Selenium Web Driver, Protractor and Mobile Automation. Mentor and assist other engineers in or out of your areas of ownership and expertise.
Role Requirements
The candidate should be good at the following core skills Core Java, Algorithms, and Data Structures
Excellent understanding and problemsolving in Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Istio environments.
Excellent white box, API testing, and experience in mock frameworks
Having a knowledge of cloud native framework such as cloud foundry
Good in Katalon, Selenium WebDriver, Junit, TestNG, JavaScript, and SQL, and experience in Unix and Shell.
Good in CI and CD tools like Maven, Jenkins, and Git.
Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure the highest quality of experience for our customers
Extremely strong passion for technology and software craftsmanship
Expertise with relational and nosql databases like Oracle, Sybase, Hbase, SAP Hana or databases is preferred
Experience in Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices and Frameworks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in an AgileScrum environment
DevOps mindset an inherent sense of ownership through the development and deployment lifecycle
Knowledge of lean development infrastructure process including Git, TeamCity, Jenkins etc. and exposure to Continuous Delivery practices
Exposure to building large scale application deployed on a public cloud like AWS, AZURE, GCP, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum BS degree in computer science or related field46+ years of experience in Java and related technologies
Strong programming skills, as well as the ability to read and code review complex code bases written by others
Ability to work independently and take on ownership of large projects in a very dynamic and adaptive environment
