Job Description:

The Safety Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment for employees contractors and visitors. This position encompasses the responsibilities of implementing safety protocols and overseeing regulatory compliance with a focus on both hot work permits and the annual return

submission for MCB waste.

Responsibilities:

1. Hot Work Safety:

• Review and approve hot work permit applications ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for activities such as welding cutting or other processes generating heat or sparks.
• Implement preventive measures and safety precautions to control fire hazards associated with hot work.
• Define designated areas for hot work activities and monitor compliance.

2. MCB Waste Management:

• Oversee the proper management and disposal of Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) waste.
• Maintain accurate records of the quantity and types of MCB waste generated throughout the year.
• Compile an annual return summarizing MCB waste disposal methods quantities and compliance data.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations governing the disposal of electronic or electrical waste.

3. Safety Programs and Policies:

• Develop implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies in alignment with local regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Stay updated with safety regulations and standards and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.

4. Training and Communication:

• Develop and deliver safety training programs covering topics such as hot work safety hazardous waste management and emergency response.
• Foster a culture of safety by promoting open communication and reporting of safety concerns.
• Regularly communicate safety updates reminders and achievements to employees.

5. Incident Investigation and Reporting:

• Investigate and report on workplace incidents accidents and near misses.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
• Prepare and submit safety reports to management summarizing key safety metrics and trends.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
2. Proven experience 1 year as a Safety Officer preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
3. Indepth knowledge of safety regulations hot work safety and hazardous waste management.
4. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g. NEBOSH OSHA) is a plus.
7. Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies.
