Job description
As the Delivery Manager, Data Services (Professional Service for Data) at Rackspace, you will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, managing the delivery team, and driving strategic initiatives to ensure the success and growth of our data consulting practice. You will play a pivotal role in maintaininghigh standards of service delivery, fostering client relationships, and driving innovation within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery Management:
- Lead and manage end-to-end project delivery processes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies and practices.
2. Team Management:
- Build and nurture a high-performing delivery team by providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members.
- Delegate tasks effectively, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure that team members have the necessary support and tools to succeed.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback to team members to promote professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
3. Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understand their needs and expectations, and act as a trusted advisor on data consulting matters.
- Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for additional services, upselling, and cross-selling of consulting solutions.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
4. Strategic Initiatives:
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the firm's data consulting capabilities, market presence, and revenue growth.
- Identify emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities in the data consulting landscape and recommend strategies for capitalizing on them.
- Collaborate with senior management to define the practice's vision, goals, and roadmap, and drive alignment across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven track record of at least 2 years of experience as Delivery Management/Practice management within the data consulting industry.
- 10+ years' experience leading engagements or design of the implementation of data solutions using the modern data platforms architecture on public cloud
- At least 2 full lifecycle data platform deployments on Azure or AWS using first party services for Data and Analytics.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Deep understanding of data management, analytics, and business intelligence technologies and methodologies.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to drive business growth and profitability.
- Relevant certifications such as ones from Hyperscaler (Azure, AWS or GSP) and PMP, Agile, or Six Sigma are a plus.
