Description About this role What is the opportunity We are recruiting for a newly formed Core Risk Management (Core RM) group, whose objective it is to advance risk management practices at BlackRock, delivering scale and resilience to the risk management platform.
This opportunity is to take on the role of data governance lead within the Core RM team, working closely with the Core RM analytics and oversight functions, with investment risk managers globally, and with our partners across the Aladdin Data (AD) and Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) organizations.
Core RM is part of the Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group, which provides independent oversight of BlackRock's fiduciary and enterprise risks globally.
What You Will Be Doing Leading a virtual squad of individuals within the CoreRM analytics and oversight functions responsible to oversee quality control of data and analytics consumed for risk management purposes from the Aladdin platform.
- Design appropriate QC that will help capture upstream data issues across all RQA technology and analytical solutions
- Build connectivity with upstream teams within the Aladdin Data (AD) and Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) teams on systematic data / model changes that impact daily risk management activities
- Identify actions in response to upstream data changes or issues – including designing and owning tooling if appropriate
- Identify thematic issues and chart permanent resolution paths with data pipelines and data quality control issues from upstream partner teams
- Design, create and own reporting across data issues, resolution path, SLA breaches etc. impacting the broader team – to be consumed by senior lead risk managers, ExCo and BlackRock's Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
- Establish governance frameworks in partnership with Aladdin Data (AD) and Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) to track thematic issues and resolutions
- Capture organization level data quality and control issues and escalate up to the enterprise risk management committee (ERMC)

- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
- 8+ years of experience in a Data, Analytics or Risk Management division in a financial services firm.
- B. Tech / B.E. / Masters. degree in a data or quantitative subject area (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or similar area).
- Basic proficiency with programming (SQL, Python, Unix etc.) and/or data and analytics expertise.
- Experience working with Aladdin and various data sets and calculators across Aladdin is a plus
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or FRM certification and knowledge of Aladdin are a plus.
