Position: Blood Bank Medical Officer
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Responsibilities - Oversee daily operations of the blood bank, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and protocols.
- Perform blood typing, cross-matching, and antibody screening.
- Coordinate with medical and nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient blood transfusions.
- Conduct donor interviews, screenings, and collections following established procedures.
- Manage inventory and storage of blood products, ensuring proper handling and labeling.
- Provide guidance and training to staff members on blood bank procedures and protocols.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance overall blood bank services.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications - Medical degree with a valid license to practice as a Medical Officer.
- Specialization in Transfusion Medicine or a relevant field is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a blood bank or transfusion service setting.
- Strong knowledge of blood banking procedures, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
